Is there a small spot  that could use a decorative piece at home, or at your wedding or event venue? This pumice planter may be just the right fit. With beautiful texture and porous appearance, it adds some instant visual interest. It's perfect for a small silk flower arrangement, or a few faux succulents. Our planter holds a 2-inch candle; just note that each pot is handmade and will not fit a candle perfectly.

This planter does not have a drainage hole and drilling holes on the pot is not recommended as it may crack. Use with a liner if using with liquids.

Description

The lava solidifies and the vesicles are contained in the rock. The eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991 caused a region what was a haven for planting rice and tropical fruits, into a desert of volcanic debriis and ashes. This handmade item, is the result of creating a new industry by the locals living in the ash-stricken areas, to create a steady livelihood for themselves.

This pumice is a by-product of Mt. Pinatubo's volcanic rocks. Pumice, a highly vesicular pyroclastic igneous rock, also known as pumicile, is formed as pyroclastic material is ejected into the air as a froth containing masses of gas bubbles or vesicles.
