The Wall Street Journal, September 2016

We're back in 'FLOWER SCHOOL' in the 'Off Duty' section of The Wall Street Journal. For this GEOMETRY LESSON, floral designer Lindsey Taylor channels the rigorous energy of a cheery, abstract canvas by Etel Adnan. "Straight-edged ceramics and massed blooms approximate the grid of Etel Adnan's untitled painting (1972-1975)."

She massed groupings of flowers cut to similar heights into geometric ceramic vases: white mini gladiolas in a white cylinder, chartreuse leucadendron in a red cube and blue eryngium and nigella in a black cube.
