This pumice pot is great for a silk or permanent arrangement. Our pot holds a few of our faux succulents. Each handmade pot is unique as you can see in the images, some with the rough, textured and porous appearance, while other ceramic & clay pots have a smoother, almost polished finish.

Use with a liner if using with liquids. This pumice is a by-product of Mt. Pinatubo's volcanic rocks. Pumice, a highly vesicular pyroclastic igneous rock, also known as pumicile, is formed as pyroclastic material is ejected into the air as a froth containing masses of gas bubbles or vesicles. The lava solidifies and the vesicles are contained in the rock. This pot does not have a drainage hole and drilling holes on the pot is not recommended as it may crack.

Description

The eruption of Mt. Pinatubo in 1991 caused a region what was a haven for planting rice and tropical fruits, into a desert of volcanic debris and ashes. This handmade item, is the result of creating a new industry by the locals living in the ash-stricken areas, to create a steady livelihood for themselves. Pair with our round cachepot planter to make the lava rock texture pop before your eyes.
